Today we ventured to the top of Park Guell, designed by Gaudi. He had big plans to create an English-style garden park with 60 homes, but only 3 were built. Before we went, I read that Salvador Dali was filled with "unforgettable anguish" when he walked through the park, but I felt just the opposite. It was wonderful! Getting up there is no joke though - even with the escalators in the first picture. Next time I go, I'm packing a lunch and sticking around to enjoy it even longer.
I have terrible memories of Park Guell! My sister and I hiked there one morning - we could see it from our flat. Then once we got there... we couldn't figure out earth how to get back (one teensy flat does not stand out on the horizon). We had no money and we were lost in Barcelona wearing tacky hiking clothes :) Oh memories... it took us 3 hours to get home.
