My Lonely Planet guidebook says that San Sebastian provides "Spain's most memorable eating experience," and I have to agree. In all the restaurants and bars in old town, the bars are piled high with San Sebastian's specialty tapas, pintxos. Jenn, La Shon, Ryan and I went on a pintxos crawl, and sampled one pintxo from each bar as we worked our way through old town. My favorites were the pimento relleno de atun, tortilla espanola con ensalada de mariscos, and gambas a la plancha. The perfect accompaniment to pintxos is txakoli, a local white wine, which is served by pouring it at arms length above the glass, shown above. The whole experience was so fun and delicious!
